Barnwell Farm Cottages- Elm Cottage

1 of a group of 7 cottages that can accommodate parties of up to 34 people. Elm Cottage is approached by its own pebbled driveway leading to car parking and patio area adjacent to the cottage. Elm Cottage is the largest cottage on the complex with accommodation for 7 people in 3 bedrooms. One bedroom with a double and single, also an ensuite bathroom, one bedroom with a double bed, and one bedroom with two singles. There is an additional separate bathroom. Both bathrooms are equipped with bath and shower.

Downstairs is very spacious with separate hall and large luxuriously furnished lounge featuring an inglenook brick fireplace with wood burning stove. The kitchen/dining area has all the features of a country farmhouse kitchen with stone floor, range and large pine table where the whole family can dine together. Modern conveniences have not been forgotten, a dishwasher, large fridge and freezer have all been built into the traditional kitchen by a local craftsman using maple and old red brick. Satellite TV/video, radio/CD player and mobile phone are all provided. Free Wi Fi is provided. We have recently opened five farm trails at Barnwell Cottages.Their route over our farmland takes you by our Bird hide,Badger hide and viewing platform, from this location you can see many parts of mainland Scotland,and the Isle of Man. We have recently stocked OUR OWN PRIVATE LAKE at Barnwell,so guests can now go fishing. In 2015 Barnwell Farm Cottages were awarded a Gold Award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme. Location Description

From Belfast International Airport , Aldergrove; take the M2 motorway direct to Belfast.

From the Port of Larne; take the main A8 towards Belfast until it joins the M2 motorway as your quickest option, or if you can read a map and would like to take the scenic coastal route past Carrickergus with its impressive Castle, then take the coastal A2 direct from Larne to Carrickfergus and then straight on to Belfast via the M5 Motorway.

On the approach to Belfast you can bypass the Centre of the City by taking the M3 motorway over the New Lagan Bridge and follow signs to Newtownards via the A2, past the New Belfast Harbour Airport, through Holywood, past the Folk and Transport Museum heading for Bangor. Follow the signs on the Rhs to Newtownards just before Bangor.

From Newtownards; follow the A20 towards Portaferry, after approx 3 miles you will come to the small Village of Greyabbey. Turn left at the mini roundabout in the village and go to the end of the street. Turn right at the T junction and leave the village on the B5 for Ballywalter.

One mile out off Greyabbey take the first road on the right into the Ballybryan Road, the Cottages are only a further quarter mile on your left hand side.
