Tory Bush Cottages- No.3
Tory Bush Cottages are situated outside Bryansford village overlooking the northern slopes of the Mourne Mountains. Tollymore Forest Park is only metres away - location for many Film and TV shoots e.g. “The Game of Thrones”, “Dracula Untold” and “The Fall”.
House 3 “Meelmore” and House 4 “Meelbeg” are build on the site of the old farmhouse at Tory Bush Cottages, the original cornerstones can still be seen. Meelmore is the house, which sleeps the most persons at Tory Bush, it has 4 bedrooms, 3 twin rooms and a single room, sleeping up to 7 persons. All the twin beds can be used as a pair of single beds or zipped together to form a double. One bedroom is on the ground floor and has an en-suite shower-room, upstairs the remaining two twin rooms have a wash hand-basin in each and the single bedroom does not have a wash hand-basin. Upstairs there is a bathroom with a shower over the bath.
Downstairs there is a sitting room with an open fire and off it dining room seating eight people; it has fantastic views up the valley from a large picture window. French doors open out on to a private garden and patio with barbecue and picnic bench. The cottages are all WiFi enabled with Freesat TV, video and DVD; baby cots, stair gates and high chairs are also available. Walkers can reach the mountains from the cottages using our own path and quiet country road or take advantage of the local Shuttle bus drop off service that operates in the Mourne area. For cyclists, there are bicycles for hire on site with storage and wash facility for your own bike.
Tory Bush Cottages are an ideal base for exploring Northern Ireland, Belfast and the Titanic Centre is an hour away and the Giants Causeway two hours. There is lots to see and do in the local area from the new Castlewellan purpose built bike and walking trails, Murlough Beach and nature reserve, and the nearby seaside town of Newcastle with its award winning promenade, cafes, restaurants and welcoming gastro pubs.
In 2015 Tory Bush Cottages were awarded a Gold Award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
