Stained Glass StoriesA talk by Dr David Hume
The beauty of stained glass is often breathtaking and in this presentation we will look at some wonderful examples, a considerable number of them from the East Antrim area, and the stories which they have to tell.
There are stories of emigrants, prominent people, victims of the First World War, and commemorative windows in secular locations as well as the more common religious imagery which we most associate with stained glass.
The talk features two of the most unique Northern Ireland stained glass church windows; portraying Santa Claus and astronauts walking on the moon.
With illustrations from County Antrim, Scotland, the Republic of Ireland and Europe.
This is a free event, however places are limited and should be booked in advance by contacting Larne Museum & Arts Centre on 028 28 262443 or e-mailing marian.kelso@midandeastantrim.gov.uk.
Light refreshments provided.
