Journeyman noun 1.
a worker or sports player who is reliable but not outstanding

Luke McGibbon has been writing and performing stand-up comedy in Northern Ireland for over a decade, and his role as a comedic journeyman becomes clearer with each passing year. But is it really such a bad thing to be destined for the middle? Or is it in fact a heroic responsibility?

Luke combines his veteran comedy experience with the wisdom he’s earned through years as a therapist and suicide hotline operator. The hilarious results won’t get him to the SSE, but maybe that’s ok.

Luke McGibbon has appeared on BBCNI’s stand-up from the sunflower, podcasts such as Word Up and No Blasters, and has written for BBCNI’s the Blame Game

“Conjured up little sympathy for his broken leg”- Gigging NI

“Charming and whimsical, a delight to watch” William Thompson

“Charmingly naff. It is witty stuff and, at times, darkly knowing. Indeed, one of McGibbon’s main strengths is his drily articulate asides”- Culture NI
