Vespers by Candlelight - Cappella Caeciliana

Banana Block

Leading choir Cappella Caeciliana are delighted to present the iconic All Night Vigil (also known as Vespers) by Sergei Rachmaninov. They will be conducted by their Musical Director Matthew Quinn, in his first performance with them since his recent appointment as Chorus Director of English National Opera.

This is the first event in the choir's 2024/25 season, which is supported by the National Lottery through the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.

Following on from very well received performances in Crumlin Road Gaol and Titanic Belfast, the choir will present this concert in another unusual venue - Banana Block. This is a new living museum and events space set within a historic linen mill and inspired by the connections between Belfast and bananas. You are invited to experience the timeless beauty of the All Night Vigil by candlelight in this innovative and informal setting.

A mixture of standard and informal seating will be provided. Not all attendees will have an unrestricted view of the choir, so please arrive early if this is important to you. Doors open at 6.45pm.

Ticket price includes a drink at the bar either before or after the performance. The bar will also be available for paid drinks.

Full price tickets cost £20, and students and under 25s can attend for only £10.
